The basic formula for a custom truck is easy to type, but it's very difficult to translate a mental image onto a metal surface. Fix this, modify that, add some color here, flame this out, and so on. Kyle Gann, owner of K-Daddyz Kustomz in Bakersfield, California, is no stranger to having visions of grandeur in his shaved head. The difference between Kyle and the rest of us: his ideas are easily transformed into automotive works of art. Each of us has our own talents, but Kyle's talent flows from a spray gun onto custom cars and trucks. When it came time to trick out an '07 Ford F-150, his thoughts went through the roof and shortly thereafter, so did the truck.

Having built many trucks, rods, and customs in the past, Kyle's inspiration for this project came from the off-road and monster-truck world. Friends with Pat Gerber, owner and driver of the Shocker monster truck, Kyle teamed up with Pat to build a one-of-a-kind F-150. Removing the body from the frame, the crew at Shocker Motorsports in Bakersfield began the tear down and rebuild process.

Before adding any new parts to the truck's frame, it was stripped down and painted to match the planned exterior paint scheme. Bolting on a chromed and powdercoated 12-inch Bulletproof Suspension lift kit, the 4WD Ford was soaring high. The front features chromed Fox Racing Shox 2-1/2-inch coilovers with remote reservoirs and custom traction bars and lateral compression bars from Cognito Motorsports. Atlas leaf springs and a 3-inch Performance Accessories body lift completed the height increase. Helping get in and out of the big Blue Oval are power steps with LED lights from AMP Research. The wheels and tires are just as big as the truck with 40-inch Toyo M/T tires mounted onto 22-inch KMC Badlands, complete with Kyle's own billet emblem. Stopping all of that rotating mass is a 14-inch Stainless Steel Brakes big brake kit. Keeping it all street legal are trick quick-release clear mudflaps from Shocker. Making the truck sky-high was fun, but making the truck go fast is one of Shocker's specialties.
