Featured Rides Of Truckin' Readers

To get your truck featured in Readers' Rides, email a high-resolution photo of your truck to John.Mata@sorc.com. Send in a front 3/4 or profile shot, and make sure it's big enough. We print at a much higher resolution than a website, which means sending links to photos posted online won't necessarily work. Images should be about three megabytes. Also, include plenty of information about yourself, your truck, and your full name. If you want to get your ride noticed by posting it on Truckin' Readers' Rides Online, go to rides.truckinweb.com. Upload as many as 20 photos of your vehicle, along with a detailed description.

As a special tribute to our Armed Forces, we tracked down some of the best rides being customized by those being put in harm's way. Check out how our military takes a break from fighting freedom and spends time turning wrenches instead.

Armed For The Street
Daniel Hill proudly serves in the U.S. Army and is in love with custom trucks. His passion is quite evident when looking at his '05 Dodge Ram. The Dodge looks great when its airbags are deflated around the 26-inch Veloche Villano wheels. To give the Ram an extra dose of power, Daniel bolted on an AEM intake, SRT-10 Ram air hood, Jet stage 2 chip, and an AIRAID throttle-body spacer. Daniel just checked his truck into the shop where it will be receiving a body drop along with a few other mods that he is going to keep under wraps for the moment.

Angelo Lozano is currently serving in the U.S. Navy, but he still finds time to class up his '08 Ford Expedition. So far, Angelo has lowered the SUV's stance with Belltech components and finished the sleek appearance with a set of 26-inch Dub Swagger wheels. Inside the cab is where things get crazy, as fiberglass speaker enclosures, custom paint, and 15-inch and 22-inch monitors have filled up the Ford's interior space.

Big Red Ram
MA3 Chris Putnam is one of the U.S. Navy's finest and he has kept one trusted weapon by his side as much as possible-his '07 Thunder Road Edition Dodge Ram. While completing his training, Chris put crazy miles on the truck's odometer but that only gave him more of a reason to go custom. Currently, the Ram has been given a 3-inch body lift and a brand-new set of 17-inch chrome Pro Comp 6001 series wheels and 35-inch Pro Comp tires. A few accessories in the way of a Flowmaster 40-series exhaust and pocket-style flares have given Chris' truck an aggressive, take-no-crap demeanor that will demand attention both on and off-road.

Mean and Clean
Staff Sergeant Fred from Twentynine Palms, California, is the proud owner of this low and lean Chevy. Being involved in the sport of custom trucks for years now, Fred has created a nice-looking cruiser. Lowered on 18-inch billet American Racing wheels, the blacked-out Bow Tie also features a Cervini's hood, Grant steering wheel, and a bumping sound system.
